How to Change A Baby Diaper
The following instructions on how to change a baby diaper will show you how simple it can be. Start by getting the following materials ready.
Required Materials
Terry cloth towels
Talcum powder
Diaper-rash ointments
Cotton balls and swabs
Baby cornstarch powder
Diaper changing table
Changing pads
Baby wipe warmers
Baby washcloths
Step 1
Put a new and clean diaper on a towel, mat or changing table.
Step 2
Position the baby on the diaper with the belly side facing you.
Step 3
Remove the tabs on the diaper the baby is wearing.
Step 4
Hold the baby’s feet and raise them up carefully until the bottom is visible. Wipe away the stools using the clean portion of the diaper. Fold over the dirty section. Place it aside.
Step 5
Get the baby wipes. Use them to wipe the baby’s genitals from the front and sides. Wipe from front to back. If the baby is a girl, stools might get into the genitals. Check those areas.
If stool is present, clean it with the baby wipes. When learning how to change a baby diaper, be sure you wipe the thighs’ skin folds and the lower back too. Wipe in a gentle manner.
Step 6
Set the baby’s bottom on the new diaper. Pat this section dry using a towel. You may sprinkle some cornstarch if you want.

Make certain you pull the diaper back up high. This is necessary to prevent leaks. Set the diaper’s front below the abdomen.

Pull the tabs from the diaper’s back and secure them up front.

Dispose of the soiled diaper properly. Make sure that your hands are clean. Wash them before and after making the change. Keep in mind that regular diaper replacements will prevent diaper rash. Under no circumstances should you leave the baby alone on the change table.
Remember that baby or talcum powder with talc may lead to respiratory difficulties. If you think this will happen, apply cornstarch instead.
When wiping the vagina, do so from the vagina to the bottom, and not the other way around. Double check to make sure the diaper is secure. When the diaper gets soiled, replace it in the manner again as indicated.
